Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the NairaTag Network (including our website, smart contracts, WhatsApp bot, Telegram bot, and related APIs), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Nature of the Protocol

NairaTag provides a decentralized digital identity and payment resolution protocol. Handles (e.g. ₦michael, ₦burna) are registered as non-fungible onchain identifiers on Base (Ethereum L2). You retain full sovereignty over your claimed tag through your private keys.

        Self-Custodial Architecture: NairaTag does not take custody of your cryptocurrency, private keys, or seed phrases. You are solely responsible for securing your wallet credentials.
      

3. WhatsApp & Messaging Interface

Our WhatsApp Business Assistant and WhatsApp Flows are designed to provide a conversational interface to the NairaTag protocol:

Users must adhere to Meta's WhatsApp Terms of Service and Business Messaging Policies.
Automated abusive messaging, spamming handle lookup commands, or attempting unauthorized access is strictly prohibited.
We reserve the right to rate-limit or restrict access to automated interfaces to preserve network health.

4. Virtual Account & Banking Rails

Fiat bank rails, Virtual Accounts, and Naira settlement services are powered in partnership with licensed payment service providers (including Flutterwave). Users acknowledge that banking rails are subject to Nigerian financial regulations, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) standards, and Know-Your-Customer (KYC) requirements.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the NairaTag Network to:

Impersonate individuals, institutions, or official entities with intent to defraud.
Engage in trademark squatting, extortion, or extortionate reselling of handles.
Facilitate unlawful transactions, money laundering, or illegal gambling.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The NairaTag Network and related smart contracts are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind. Blockchain transactions are irreversible once confirmed onchain.

7. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising out of or related to these terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria.
